Define Your Polarity Right… because only in one direction can you walk at once!

Polarity… polarity has many definitions. A couple of which I personally love the most are:
1. Polarity is a description of an attribute, typically a binary attribute (one with two values), or a vector (a direction).
2. Polarity is a mutual opposition: a relation between two opposite attributes or tendencies.

So, what is polarity, is it important or necessary, rather is it inherent in everything? These are some of the common questions that I look forward to discuss ahead. First of all, let us talk of polarity in more real and near senses. Good and Evil, Positive and Negative, Up and Down, Left and Right, Front and behind, Disease and Health, are all examples of the concept that w understand as Polarity.

Now, talking of the necessity… A person who has not plunged deep into this theory would normally ask what could be the necessity of all the negative things, like sadness, fear, disease, darkness etc.. But, let me tell you this:
There is an absolute need for all the “wrong” things. A need, to balance everything. A need, to sustain the good. A need, to maintain order.

Yes, “chaos” is required to maintain and even feel “order”.
I know I may need to do a lot of explaining for all this, which I am going to do. So, let us start with a series of examples to prove the need and justify the existence of diseases.’

A deadly disease known to sometimes cause the following:
• Cirrhoses of the liver
• Diabetes
• Cardiomyopathy
• Arthritis
• Tanning of the skin etc.,
called, “Haemochromatosis”.

It is basically an overload of iron in a body. One NEEDS to donate blood regularly to feel good alongwith the rest of the healing processes. Even a deadly disease like this one has a great benefit, a very noble cause in which its origin is rooted… Even without a cut or a wound, we are very vulnerable to infections through our natural openings such as our mouth and the ears. Now, all bacteria, microbes, and many infectious agents need iron to survive as we do. So, in order to protect us from these infections, all these openings are iron restricted areas in our bodies whereas iron is present almost everywhere. Moreover, in response to an acquired infection, iron is locked away to prevent biological invaders to feed upon that and use it again against us. The exact thing that happens in “Haemochromatosis”.

A disease protecting against many others, created for good, may be carried on by mistake! “Mistake” would be actually a controversial word to use. I would rather say, that diseases kill and are considered bad because the environments and all the external factors keep on changing but one just cannot switch off a disease once its need is over.
It has been created, and is meant to be carried on!

Talking about a disease spreading like anything today. Diabetes!
What’s good in that? Well, it is supposed to have been there since the ice age. Right, it must have to do something with fighting cold. When you shiver, the increased muscle activity burns the sugar stored in your muscles and creates heat. That’s why the fingers and toes going numb. As the body senses cold, it constricts the thin web of capillaries in your extremities, first your fingers and toes, then further up your arms and legs. As this happens, blood is squeezed out and driven toward your torso, where it essentially provides a warm bath for your vital organs, keeping them at a safe temperature, even if it means the risk of frostbite for your extremities.

It is sensible: lose your finger, spare the liver!
When rats are exposed to freezing temperatures, their bodies become resistant to their own insulin. Essentially, they become what we call, DIABETIC, in response to cold!

Life - saving, isn’t it!?
The biggest debate in this region is whether ageing can also be life - saving in any way!

What if I said Yes? It provides two benefits. First one is Evolution! We have developed a lot of skills to fight against many diseases only due to the evolution we have gone through.

Secondly, ageing protects us by eliminating individuals that have become laden with parasites, thus preventing them from infecting the next generation. In order to describe this point more clearly, I will have to elaborate on it a bit.

Everytime a cell reproduces, it loses a little bit of DNA. In order to prevent that information loss from making a difference, your chromosomes have what amounts to extra information at their tips called Telomeres. Imagine, you have a 200-page document and need to make 50 copies but the photocopier has played a game with you. Instead of charging you money, he is just going to take off the then end page of your document after every copy he makes.

This obviously creates a problem. But then we are as I said evolved species and we are a lot more intelligent than what we used to be like hundreds of years ago. So, being a highly evolved organism, with a gift for clever solutions, you add 50 blank pages at the end of the document and hand-over a 250-page document. So, even after a 50 copies, every copy you have is complete!

Telomeres are like those blank pages, and as cells reproduce, these are shortened, and the truly valuable DNA is protected. But once a cell has reproduced 50 – 60 times these telomeres are gone.
Why to have this limit? Why to have a limit on the cellular reproduction when we could live forever.

In a word? Cancer.

Cancerous cells need to have reproduction limit so that they can be contained. Although, that’s a different story that these cells too are highly evolved, and secrete a protein called Telomerase which increase Telomeres thus making them kind of IMMORTAL!

But everything has a reason, a good one, at least for its creation.
For another example, dark skin, which people having should feel proud of, absorbs lesser UV rays and thus a reduced risk of skin cancer. People have or develop a dark colour in areas highly exposed to sunlight and heat. So, does it all not seem programmed, programmed to perfection?

Talking in non-medical terms, evil has to exist to make God what He is. I mean there has to be some darkness to be put away by light. Otherwise there seems no sense why even God should exist. Good shall only exist because there is evil and medicine should only exist because there are diseases.
Existence of just one is not only impractical and illogical, rather impossible, it seems! Neither Good nor Bad, neither Left nor Right, neither Up nor Down, rather, The BALANCE is of the essence.

Everyone subconsciously wants a perfect world, but is it really possible, because the reason I suppose perfection does not exist is because it is extremely out of balance! So, maybe we should aim for a world in control rather than a perfect world considering the real possibilities.

It is time you should try to be bipolar, I do not mean sexually, but yes intellectually! Both the directions are right. Rather it all depends on your need, which one is better for you.
